The Falls Township community is heartbroken following the tragic death of 38-year-old Jay Kountree of Trenton, who lost his life early Tuesday morning in a devastating crash on Route 1. According to police, Jay’s vehicle, a black Cadillac, struck a concrete divider near the Route 13 overpass around 2:25 a.m. After the collision, Jay exited his disabled car, unaware that his final moments were approaching. As he stood outside, a Lexus sedan traveling northbound struck him, leaving him critically injured. Despite being rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, Jay was sadly pronounced deceased from his injuries.
Those who knew Jay describe him as a kind-hearted, dependable man who brought light and laughter wherever he went. Friends say he had a smile that could lift anyone’s spirits and a heart that never hesitated to help others. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
