WINSTON-SALEM, N.C  — The Winston-Salem community is mourning the loss of 19-year-old Cameron Demon Napper Jr., who was tragically shot and killed early Monday morning. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting around 3 a.m. in the area of Bertha Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered Cameron suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the quick response from emergency medical services, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have launched a homicide investigation into the deadly shooting. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led to the incident and identify those responsible. At this time, no suspect information or motive has been released.
