SWANTON, Ohio — The tight-knit community of Swanton is grieving after the tragic loss of 26-year-old Alysa Stafford, who was killed late Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash in Henry County.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 11:14 p.m. on County Road 424, near the intersection of County Road 2B in Washington Township. Investigators say Alysa was traveling westbound when her vehicle veered off the road and crashed. Despite the quick response of emergency personnel, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle.

Authorities noted that seatbelts were not in use, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. It is not yet known if alcohol or speed played a role.
