Police Investigating Triple Murder in Monroe; 2-Year-Old Among Victims
MONROE, La. – Heartbreak and disbelief have gripped the Monroe community following a horrific triple homicide early Tuesday morning. Authorities say three people, including a 2-year-old child, were found shot to death inside a home on Grammont Street, near the city’s public works department.
Monroe Police responded to the residence around 2:30 a.m. and discovered the bodies of 26-year-old Jaborris Simpson, his 2-year-old daughter, Jhersi Simpson, and Jamal Bosley. All three victims reportedly suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head.
During a Tuesday afternoon news conference, Mayor Friday Ellis, Police Chief Victor Zordan, and city officials expressed their condolences and called for unity and prayers for the grieving families. “This is an unimaginable tragedy,” Chief Zordan said. “We will not rest until justice is served for these innocent lives.”
Investigators are actively processing evidence and interviewing witnesses, but as of Tuesday evening, police have not released information regarding potential suspects or a motive.
