MONROE COUNTY, Miss. — The Mississippi community is grappling with a tragic and shocking event after the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) arrested 17-year-old Jadynn Hamilton in connection with the death of his 73-year-old grandmother, Ollie Hamilton.

Deputies were called to a church building on Burr Road, where family members discovered Mrs. Hamilton severely beaten. She had been attending the church when the attack occurred. Despite immediate assistance from first responders, she succumbed to her injuries, leaving family and neighbors devastated by the sudden and violent loss of a beloved matriarch.

Investigators quickly identified Jadynn Hamilton, the victim’s grandson, as a person of interest. Authorities report that he was present during the assault and, after further evidence was collected, confessed to the crime.
