The city of Columbus, Ohio, is mourning the tragic loss of 33-year-old Shakeilah White, who was fatally shot in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 2, 2025. Officers with the Columbus Division of Police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Wildwood Avenue, near Brentnell Avenue, around 3:30 a.m., where they found Shakeilah suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but sadly did not survive.
Shakeilah was a vibrant and loving woman whose presence brought warmth and light to those around her. She was known for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and deep love for her family and friends. Those who knew her describe her as someone who always went out of her way to help others, offering encouragement, joy, and a smile even in difficult times.
Her sudden and senseless passing has left her loved ones heartbroken, struggling to understand how such a caring and beautiful soul could be taken so soon. As family, friends, and neighbors gather to remember her, they are holding tightly to the memories of her laughter, her compassion, and the love she freely shared.
Authorities have detained a man in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Columbus Police Department continues to urge anyone with information to come forward as they work to bring justice for Shakeilah.
