In Loving Memory of Maria Zavala-Tinoco
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Maria Zavala-Tinoco, age 40, of Reading, Pennsylvania, who tragically lost her life in a pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning, November 4, 2025, along Route 222 near Dries Road in Ontelaunee Township.
According to authorities, Maria was attempting to cross the highway around 4:55 a.m. when she was struck by a tractor-trailer and then by another northbound vehicle. Emergency crews arrived quickly, but despite their best efforts, Maria was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her passing has left an immense void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Maria will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, and friend — a woman whose kindness, compassion, and strength touched many lives. She was known for her bright smile, her unwavering dedication to her loved ones, and her ability to bring warmth and comfort wherever she went.
As her family grieves this unimaginable loss, the community of Reading stands beside them in love and prayer. Maria’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
