In Loving Memory of Erik Spencer

The community of Jefferson City is mourning the tragic loss of Erik Spencer, who was shot and killed on Saturday night, November 1, 2025, in the 3500 block of Missouri Boulevard.

According to a statement released by the Jefferson City Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire and arrived to find Spencer suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate and valiant efforts of first responders to save his life, Erik Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have confirmed that the incident is being investigated as a homicide, and detectives from the department’s Criminal Investigation Section processed the scene late into the night. Lt. Jason Payne stated that the person responsible for the shooting has been identified and is cooperating with investigators. The suspect’s name will remain confidential pending potential charges from the Cole County Prosecutor’s Office.
