RAEFORD, N.C. (October 30, 2025) – Heartbreak has struck the Raeford community following the tragic death of Ms. Connie Linen, who was found unresponsive inside her home Thursday morning. The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the case is being treated as a homicide investigation, and detectives are working tirelessly to uncover the truth behind her death.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., deputies responded to a call for a well-being check at a residence in the 100 block of Pearce Place. A second caller entered the home and discovered Ms. Linen unresponsive. Emergency medical crews rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced deceased shortly after.
Friends and neighbors describe Connie as a kind-hearted woman with a gentle spirit — someone who greeted everyone with warmth and compassion. Her sudden and violent passing has left her family and the entire Raeford community in shock, struggling to make sense of such a devastating loss.
