GUNTERSVILLE, Ala  — The Guntersville community is mourning the tragic loss of 69-year-old Alexis Lauren Taylor-Boll, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 431.

According to the Guntersville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Buck Island Drive and Highway 431 around 7:53 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders found two heavily damaged vehicles  a 2024 Mazda CX-50 and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler  involved in the collision.

Investigators say the Jeep Wrangler had been traveling north on Highway 431 when the Mazda attempted to enter the roadway and make a turn south. The two vehicles collided, resulting in severe impact. Tragically, Alexis Taylor-Boll, the driver of the Mazda, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

Emergency personnel from multiple agencies — including the Guntersville Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Medical Service Ambulance, and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office — responded to the crash site and worked together to manage the scene.

Authorities say the Guntersville Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit is continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the collision.

News of Taylor-Boll’s death has left neighbors, friends, and community members heartbroken. Described as a kind and gentle soul, Alexis was known for her warm spirit and love for her family and community. Her passing serves as a somber reminder of how quickly life can change on the road.

“Our hearts go out to the family of Ms. Taylor-Boll,” one local resident shared. “She was a wonderful woman, and her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew her.”

As the investigation continues, police are reminding drivers to stay alert and cautious when entering or crossing busy highways  a simple act that can prevent future heartbreak.

The community of Guntersville now grieves the loss of one of its own, remembering Alexis Taylor-Boll for her kindness, compassion, and the light she brought into the lives of those around her.
