FREDERICK, Md. — The Frederick community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 13-year-old TJ Jackson, a beloved youth football player who passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, following a sudden medical emergency during a football game.
According to a GoFundMe page created to support his family, TJ suffered a medical emergency on the field during a game on Saturday, October 25. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he bravely fought for days. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical staff, TJ succumbed to his injuries.
The young athlete’s passing has left his family, teammates, and the wider Maryland sports community devastated. While the exact cause of his medical emergency has not yet been released, tributes have poured in across social media, remembering TJ for his passion for sports, his gentle nature, and the brightness he brought to every room.
TJ Jackson was known not just for his athletic talent but for his kindness, perseverance, and cheerful spirit. He excelled in multiple sports, wore jersey #76, and played for the Damascus Sports Association’s Cougars, where he led and inspired his team.
