ALBION, N.Y. — The Albion community is mourning the loss of 78-year-old Paul Fulcomer, a beloved local resident who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

According to Orleans County Sheriff Christopher Bourke, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of East County House Road and State Route 98 in Albion. Investigators say Fulcomer was traveling westbound on East County House Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a northbound vehicle. The impact sent both the motorcycle and the car off the roadway, coming to rest on the lawn of a nearby home.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and performed life-saving measures, but sadly, Fulcomer was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Bourke noted that the investigation remains ongoing and that it is not yet clear whether speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors in the collision.

News of Paul Fulcomer’s passing has deeply affected the Albion community, where he was known as a kind, friendly, and hardworking man who enjoyed life and the freedom of the open road.
