FALMOUTH, Ky. — The Falmouth community is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of Shirley Yeary, 62, who died early Monday morning in a fatal crash on the AA Highway north of Alexandria.
Authorities reported that the crash occurred around 5 a.m. near KY-709 and Thelma Lee Drive, when a southbound semi truck reportedly ran a red light and collided with the vehicle driven by Yeary. Emergency responders pronounced her deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi truck was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.
Shirley Yeary is remembered by family, friends, and the Falmouth community as a kind, caring, and cherished member of the community. The Alexandria Police Department, in collaboration with the Campbell County Special Incident Response Team, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
