It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of 67-year-old Lorretta Stewart of Nortonville, who tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle collision in Jefferson County, Kansas, on Saturday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the heartbreaking crash occurred on K-4 Highway, where Stewart was driving southbound in the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2019 Dodge Journey traveling north. Despite the efforts of first responders, Stewart did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Journey and three passengers — including a 6-year-old child and a 2-month-old infant — were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed that everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Lorretta Stewart will be remembered as a kind-hearted, compassionate, and loving woman who brought warmth and comfort to everyone she met. Known for her selflessness and caring nature, she was deeply devoted to her family and community.
