It is with deep sadness that the community of Sierra Vista mourns the passing of Dr. Gary Geiger, a beloved and highly respected veterinarian whose compassion and dedication to animal care touched countless lives. Coolfmlive reports that Dr. Geiger, who operated the Geiger Veterinary Mobile Clinic, served the pets and families of Cochise County for more than two decades with unwavering commitment and kindness.

Dr. Geiger’s career spanned over four decades, beginning after his graduation in 1976. His mobile clinic, established in 2001, became a cornerstone of accessible and affordable veterinary care across the region, ensuring that families—no matter their circumstances—could provide their animals with the treatment they needed. His passion for helping both people and pets was evident in every visit, every emergency call, and every life he saved.

Just this past September, Dr. Geiger celebrated his retirement, marking what was meant to be the beginning of a new, well-deserved chapter filled with rest and joy after years of dedicated service. His unexpected passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him, worked alongside him, and relied on his care.

Renee Hopkins, of the Cochise County Humane Society, shared, “We are deeply saddened by Dr. Geiger’s passing. He was an extraordinary veterinarian and an exceptionally compassionate individual who tirelessly worked to save every animal he could. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Dr. Geiger’s legacy will forever live on through the many lives he touched—both human and animal. His gentle heart, unwavering professionalism, and deep love for his work made him not only a trusted veterinarian but also a cherished friend and community figure.

May his memory continue to inspire kindness, compassion, and care for all living creatures.
