It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of 27-year-old Nicholas Knowlton, who lost his life in a boating accident on Friday night, November 1, in Charlotte Harbor, near Fisherman’s Village in Punta Gorda, Florida.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Nicholas was operating a 22-foot vessel around 9 p.m. when his boat struck a rock jetty, ejecting him into the water. Nearby good Samaritans and a Punta Gorda Police officer rushed to his aid, pulling him from the water and performing lifesaving measures. Despite their best efforts, Nicholas tragically did not survive.

The news of his passing has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken. Nicholas was a young man full of life, known for his adventurous spirit, warm heart, and love for the outdoors. He had a passion for the water and a deep appreciation for nature, spending countless hours boating and exploring Florida’s beautiful coastlines. Those who knew him describe him as kind, caring, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

His laughter, generosity, and love for life touched everyone he met. Nicholas will be remembered not only for his bright smile and adventurous soul but also for the compassion and joy he brought into the lives of others.

The FWC extended their condolences to his loved ones, stating, “Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.” Though Nicholas’s life ended far too soon, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
