It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of 64-year-old Annette Gorr of Brewster, Washington, whose life was heartbreakingly cut short on Saturday night in a devastating hit-and-run crash along State Route 97, about five miles east of Brewster.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Annette was walking along the northbound lane of SR 97 when a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Anselmo Morales-Enriquez tried to avoid her but was unable to, striking her in the roadway. Annette came to rest in the northbound lane, and Morales-Enriquez immediately pulled over to the shoulder. Moments later, while she was still in the road, a second northbound vehicle struck her and fled the scene without stopping. A third vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Jeremy Liberty of Easton, also hit her before continuing northbound. Liberty was later located by law enforcement, and the search for the second vehicle involved is still ongoing.
The tragic chain of events has left Annette’s family, friends, and community in deep sorrow. Known for her kind heart, gentle nature, and unwavering compassion, Annette touched countless lives throughout Brewster and beyond. She was a beloved friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile.
