GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (November 1, 2025) — The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 52-year-old Ronald Minor of Puryear, Tennessee, who tragically lost his life following a two-vehicle crash in the Pilot Oak community, south of Mayfield.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened at the intersection of KY 94 and KY 129. Investigators say Jose Ruiz, 26, of Union City, Tennessee, was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla eastbound on KY 94 when he stopped at a stop sign and began making a left turn onto KY 94 West. In that moment, Ruiz’s vehicle entered the path of Minor’s 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, causing a devastating collision.
The impact threw Minor from his motorcycle, leaving him critically injured. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and he was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital before being airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Ronald Minor passed away from his injuries.
Ruiz and his passenger, 23-year-old Diego Olague, both from Union City, were unharmed.
Deputy Zac Smith led the investigation with assistance from Sgt. Ben Doran, Kentucky State Police, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Sedalia Fire Department, and Cuba Fire Department.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of Mr. Minor during this difficult time.”
Ronald will be remembered as a devoted family man and a passionate motorcyclist who lived life with kindness, courage, and love. His loss leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his memory will forever ride on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Rest in peace, Ronald Minor — gone too soon, but never forgotten.
