PUEBLO, Colo. (November 1, 2025) — It is with profound sadness that the Pueblo community mourns the tragic loss of 21-year-old Eric Torres, whose life was cut short in a senseless act of violence early Saturday morning.
Around 2:49 a.m., Pueblo Police responded to reports of gunfire after a ShotSpotter detected 27 rounds fired near West 13th Street by El Pueblo Pride Park. When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff, Eric Torres passed away at 10:20 a.m. His death marks Pueblo’s 12th homicide of the year and the second fatal shooting to occur within the span of just half an hour. The Pueblo County Coroner identified Torres and confirmed that his family has been notified. The second victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police believe the shooting was targeted, though no suspects have been identified at this time. The investigation remains ongoing as officers work diligently to find those responsible for this heartbreaking loss.
Eric Torres was more than a victim of tragedy — he was a son, a friend, and a light to those who knew him. At just 21, his life was full of promise, laughter, and love.
