RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Police Department has identified the woman who was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in South Richmond as 41-year-old Danielle Callahan.
According to police, officers were called to the 200 block of West Roanoke Street around 12:48 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save her, Callahan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the Major Crimes Division responded and began processing the scene for evidence. At this time, police have not released any information about a suspect or possible motive, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
