BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Heartbreak struck downtown Buffalo early Saturday morning after a deadly shooting claimed the life of one teenager and left another injured.

According to police, the shooting happened around 2:20 a.m. near West Chippewa Street and Pearl Street, an area known for its busy nightlife. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was rushed to Erie County Medical Center, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators recovered two firearms hidden beneath vehicles in a nearby parking lot, along with several shell casings scattered across the scene. Authorities believe the incident was targeted, though the exact motive remains under investigation.

The tragedy has left many in the community shaken and grieving as police work tirelessly to bring answers and justice to those affected. Local leaders continue to urge peace and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of standing together against violence in the city.
