KINGSPORT, Tenn. — The Kingsport Police Department has announced the arrest of two individuals following a deadly shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, November 10, 2025, on Sky South Road.
At approximately 12:00 a.m., Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting gunshots and a man lying on the ground. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Johnathon Reed, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives and crime scene personnel were immediately called in to process evidence and begin the homicide investigation.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified 22-year-old Krysten Atkins and 33-year-old Tyler Holly as persons of interest in connection with the shooting.
Later that same day, around 5:00 p.m., investigators located both Atkins and Holly at an address on Garden Drive. Following interviews and evidence review, Atkins was charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, while Holly was charged with one count of Accessory After the Fact to First-Degree Murder.
Atkins was transported to the Sullivan County Jail in Blountville, and Holly remains in custody at the Kingsport City Jail.
Authorities confirmed that both suspects were apprehended without incident and thanked the public for their assistance in locating them.
“The swift resolution of this case was made possible through diligent investigative work and the cooperation of our community,” said a spokesperson for the Kingsport Police Department. “We appreciate everyone who came forward with information.”
The victim, Johnathon Reed, has been identified as a 37-year-old white male residing on Sky South Road in Kingsport. Reed’s death remains under investigation as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
