MILTON, N.Y. — With heavy hearts, we mourn the tragic passing of 58-year-old Fredrick Baber of Port Charlotte, Florida, who lost his life in a devastating plane crash Friday morning in Milton, New York.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, the small aircraft piloted by Fredrick went down just before 10:30 a.m. on Wyndham Way after reportedly striking a tree and crashing into the driveway of a nearby home. Despite the quick response of emergency crews, Fredrick was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 39-year-old Alexander Hoff of Hollis, New Hampshire, was critically injured and remains hospitalized at Albany Medical Center.
Fredrick, an experienced pilot and devoted aviation enthusiast, lived his life with passion, purpose, and a deep love for the skies. Those who knew him remember his gentle nature, kind heart, and unwavering generosity. He had a way of making others feel seen and valued — a true friend, a loving family member, and a man whose smile could brighten any room.
Flying was more than a profession or hobby for Fredrick; it was his joy and freedom. He found peace above the clouds and carried that same calm spirit into every part of his life. His passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
As his family, friends, and the aviation community come together to honor his memory, they remember not only the tragic way he left this world, but the beautiful life he lived — one filled with love, adventure, and kindness.
May Fredrick Baber’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to soar high above, watching over them always. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
