TOLEDO, Ohio — It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of 35-year-old Devonta Miller, who tragically lost his life in a shooting early Saturday morning at a Toledo bar.

According to the Toledo Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. at Bottom Line Bar on Starr Avenue. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to nearby hospitals, but sadly, Devonta did not survive his injuries. The second victim is expected to recover.

Police later arrested 32-year-old Andreania Pruitt, who has been charged with murder and felonious assault in connection with the deadly shooting. Investigators reported that Pruitt had been in a relationship with Devonta and that an altercation between Devonta and another man led to the tragic events that followed.

Devonta’s passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of his loved ones and all who knew him. He was a man known for his warm smile, caring nature, and the way he could bring light and laughter into any room. Devonta had a genuine heart — he loved deeply, lived passionately, and touched countless lives through his kindness and compassion.

Those close to him describe Devonta as someone who always looked out for others, who believed in lifting people up, and who carried love wherever he went. His loss is not just felt by his family, but by an entire community that admired the person he was.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Devonta Miller’s memory will live on forever — in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that continues to surround his name.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in knowing that Devonta will always be remembered, always cherished, and forever loved.
