AIKEN, S.C — Authorities in Aiken are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of 36-year-old Xavier Hall early Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025.
According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS), officers were dispatched at approximately 3:18 a.m. to the 1200 block of Aldrich Street after receiving reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located Hall suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office at 4:45 a.m.
Authorities have confirmed that one person has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. However, officials have not yet released the suspect’s identity or any potential motive as the investigation remains ongoing.
The crime scene was secured for several hours Wednesday morning as detectives collected evidence and canvassed the area for witnesses. ADPS is working closely with the Aiken County Coroner’s Office to determine the events that led to the fatal encounter.
Community members have begun expressing shock and sadness over the news of Hall’s death, remembering him as a caring individual whose life ended far too soon.
