TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is investigating a homicide after an adult male, identified as Lakeboy Vito, was found shot inside a vehicle Wednesday in the 5600 block of Aenon Church Trail.

Deputies responded to the scene after reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Vito unresponsive inside a parked vehicle. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the investigation is active but emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The sheriff’s office has not yet released details about possible suspects or a motive in the shooting.

“Our detectives are working diligently to determine what led up to this tragic incident,” an LCSO spokesperson said in a brief statement. “We will release additional information as it becomes available.”

The quiet community surrounding Aenon Church Trail was left shaken by the news. Neighbors described the area as typically peaceful and expressed sorrow for the loss of life.
