In Loving Memory of Sevyn Bellar-White
The Omaha community is mourning the tragic loss of 17-year-old Sevyn Bellar-White, who was shot and killed last Friday at a house party in South Omaha. Sevyn was a senior at Millard North High School, a bright and driven young man with big dreams for the future. He was looking forward to attending college next year, where he planned to major in Construction Management a field that reflected his creativity, focus, and determination.
Those who knew Sevyn describe him as kind, funny, and full of potential a young man who brought energy and positivity wherever he went. His smile could light up a room, and his presence left a lasting impression on friends, teachers, and teammates alike.
The heartbreak of his loss is felt deeply throughout Omaha, especially by his parents, who are now facing an unimaginable pain. They expected their son to come home, like he always did after spending time with friends. No parent ever imagines that a hug, an “I love you,” or a wave goodbye might be the last. Sevyn’s passing is a devastating reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is.
The Omaha Police Department has vowed to continue fighting for justice — not only for Sevyn but for every victim of senseless violence, and for the families and communities left behind to pick up the pieces.
If you have any information regarding the shooting death of Sevyn Bellar-White, please contact Homicide Detectives at 402-444-4600. To remain anonymous, you can call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
As friends, teachers, and loved ones come together to honor Sevyn’s memory, his spirit will live on through the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the promise of the bright future he should have had.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
